In most cases the Facebook Event page isn't enough for a class reunion. Most organizers want to collect money and collect additional information from the attendees. They may also want to collect money for extra events like golf outings, the alumni association, a scholarship or even a memorial fund. Those are all the things that a Pay It Square Collect Page helps organizers manage. We can add all of that later - in Step 4.
Step 2: Setup a Facebook Page for your Class
A Facebook Page is not specifically for the event. It is a page on Facebook that classmates can like to follow in their newsfeed. When you, your co-organizers or classmates publish information to the page's wall your classmates who liked the page will see the status updates in their new feeds. As a best practice we recommend naming your page with your school name followed by the the graduation date. For example: Holt High School: Class of 1992.
After you have setup your page. Add some classmates as administrators to help you organize and manage the page. Then promote it to all of your classmates and ask them to like it so they get updates in their news feeds.
Step 3: Setup a Facebook Event for your class reunion from your new Facebook Page
Creating an event is easy. The spot to do it is at the top of your class Facebook page's timeline.
Now your class reunion event will show up within your Class Facebook Page. People who have liked the page will get an update in their news feed that a the class reunion has been scheduled. You can also share the event with classmates directly. Everyone that manages the Facebook page will also be setup to manage the event.
