How to Upgrade and Verify Your PayPal Account

**Please make sure that you used your Paypal email address for Pay It Square**
(If you didn't, that's okay, just create a new username with the right email address or change it on your Pay It Square profile page.)
Got the right email address? Good. There are a few things you'll need to have done.
- Confirm your Paypal account
- Verify your Paypal account with your bank account
- Make your Paypal Account 'Premier' or 'Business'
How to Confirm and Activate Your Paypal Account:
Step 1: Log in to Paypal.com
Step 2: Click Confirm Email address
Step 3: Follow the instructions on the page below.
Step 4: You will receive an email in your inbox from Paypal. Click the link in the email and you will have Confirmed your account!
Step 5: Go back to Pay It Square and reload the page, do you see an Error message?

How To Get Verified on PayPal
Please follow these instructions carefully; we’ll guide you through it.
Step 1: Sign in to PayPal.
Step 2: Click the Get Verified Link on the top left of the page.
Step 3: Select whatever option you want to connect a bank account to PayPal.
Option 1: Immediate Verification This step is for those who have never connected an account to PayPal before. It will be quick; all you have to do is sign in with your online banking account information, let it verify and you will be set to go! (Having problems? Contact paypal support)
Option 2: Regular Verification This step requires you to enter in information from a check to connect your two accounts. This step takes 2-3 days as stated by Paypal, so it is much slower than Step 1, and requires you to do a bit more work. The options are up to you! (Having problems? Contact paypal support)
Step 4: Once you have your bank account connected to PayPal, refresh the page on Pay It Square. Do you still see the error message?

How To Make Your Paypal Account 'Premier' or 'Business'
Login to your PayPal account. Then look in the top left corner of the My Account page.
Does it say Premier or Business?
Yes: Great, follow these steps
- Make sure that your PayPal account doesn't have any outstanding verification notifications on the right hand side. Your email and bank account have to be verified and confirmed to accept credit cards.
- Make sure the email address you registered with Pay It Square is also used by your PayPal account. If it isn't you can add it under the Profile > Add / Edit Email navigation within your PayPal account.
- After that you are all set.

I did all of the steps above but people still can't checkout with just their credit card. It keeps forcing them to create a PayPal account.
