How does Pay It Square work?
Running around with a clipboard or Excel sheet, trying to organize cash and checks, is time consuming and frustrating. Pay It Square collects money from people online. It's perfect for events, fundraisers, or many other types of group payments.
It's simple - set up a page, notify invitees or donors, and collect payments online. People can pay using their existing PayPal account, bank transfer, credit or debit card. All payments are sent to your PayPal account. From here, you can request a check from PayPal or have the funds deposited directly into a bank account.
To accept credit card payments you must have a free PayPal Premier or Business account that has been fully confirmed and verified.

How do fees work?
It's simple! The organizer chooses who pays the service fees.
- The organizer can either pay the fees him or herself or ...
- The organizer can pass the fees along to those making payments
Fees only apply to online payments.
What happens when the organizer chooses to pass the fees along to those making payments?
The Payer is charged a 99¢ fee per transaction.
- When a Payer pays with their PayPal account balance or bank transfer, there are no additional fees.
Example: You are collecting $50 USD from someone. The payer is charged $50.99. You receive $50. Pay It Square receives $0.99.
- If a Payer uses a credit card, an additional fee of 2.9% + $0.30 is charged by PayPal (see international rates here).
Example: You are collecting $50 USD from someone. The payer is charged $52.77 USD. You receive $50 USD. Pay It Square receives $0.99. PayPal receives $1.78.
Don't worry, we make this all very easy for both the organizer and payer to understand and track. Everything is disclosed throughout the entire payment process.
What happens when the organizer chooses to pay the service fees on behalf of payers?
The Organizer is charged a 99¢ fee per transaction.
- When a Payer pays with their PayPal account balance or bank transfer, there are no additional fees.
- If a Payer pays via credit card, the Organizer is charged an additional 2.9% + $1.29 USD per transaction. This is the total fee including all PayPal fees. Pay It Square's fee is 99¢ and PayPal charges 2.9% + $0.30.
Why does Pay It Square charge 99¢ more than standard PayPal fees?
We charge fees in order to provide our service. This is the only money we collect. It is our way of generating revenue. Collecting these fees allow us to further develop and improve the site.
What currencies do you support?
Currency collection is configurable during the Collect Money Page setup process. Below is a list of our supported currencies:

- Canadian Dollar (CAD)
- Euro (EUR)
- Mexican Peso (MEX)
- U.S. Dollar (USD)
Do I need to provide secure information, such as my social security number, to setup a Pay It Square account?
Absolutely not. All we need is the email address you use with your PayPal account.
Who needs a PayPal account to use this site?
The only person who needs a PayPal account is the organizer of the collect page(s).
Does someone need a PayPal account to pay me online?
No, they don't need a PayPal account to pay you online. They can use their credit card to pay online without a PayPal account. To accept credit card payments you must have a verified PayPal Premier account.

Where does the money I collect online go?
The money collected online goes directly into your PayPal account that you specify when you sign up as an organizer.
How do I get my money out of PayPal?
PayPal offers many options, including sending you a check, transferring it to your bank account and they can even issue a debit card that is connected to your account. You can also just hold the money in your PayPal account and send money to people via PayPal.
How do I handle refunds?
Refunds are simple. You handle them through your PayPal account. Log in to your PayPal account and you will be able to issue refunds there. PayPal supports full and partial refunds.
