How does Pay It Square work?
Pay It Square works by providing you a page where you can collect money from people online. Pay It Square was built for events, fundraisers, and is useful in many other types of group payments.
It's simple - set up a page, notify invitees or donors, and collect payments online. People can pay using their existing PayPal account, bank transfer, credit or debit card. All payments are sent to your Payment Processor account. From here, you can work with your specified payment processor to issue a payment back to your bank account.
How much does Pay It Square cost?
All payments that are exchanged on Pay It Square are charged a set of fees. Pay it Square's fee are based on the template and payment processor you choose to use. For more information on that, see our page dedicated to Pay It Square Fees.
There is no cost for creating extra pages, opening an account, uploading images, and there's no pesky recurring fee. Organizers can collect for free by passing fees onto the payers, or, accepting the fees themselves to make a smooth checkout for payers.
What is a "Payment Processor"?
Pay It Square doesn't collect any money. Pay it Square uses Payment Processors to quickly and securely accept payments online. Pay It Square uses 3 different Payment Processors: PayPal, Stripe, and WePay. As an organizer, you can choose which Payment Processor works best for you. You don't need to use all of them, but you will need to use one of them! See more information about our Payment Processors here
What currencies do you support?
Currently, PayPal is our only international payments platform. PayPal accepts:
- Australian Dollar (AUD)
- British Pound (GBP)
- Canadian Dollar (CAD)
- Euro (EUR)
- Mexican Peso (MEX)
- U.S. Dollar (USD)
Do I need to provide secure information, such as my social security number, to setup a Pay It Square account?
Absolutely not. All we need is the email address you use with your PayPal account. Our Payment Processors will require more secure information, but Pay it Square will not.
Who needs a Payment Processor account to use this site?
The only person who needs a Payment Processor account is the organizer of the collect page(s).
Does someone need a special account to pay me online?
No, they don't need an account to pay you online. They can use their credit card to pay online without an account. To accept credit card payments you must have a verified Payment Processor account.
See our page on Payment Processors to get more information.
Where does the money I collect online go?
The money collected online goes directly into your Payment Processor account that you specify when you sign up as an organizer. We simply facilitate the payment transaction.
I am the organizer and I need to pay. How do I do that without getting charged any fees?
It is really simple. Just manage your Collect Page then add your self as paid offline. You don't need to go through the online payment process. If you need to keep all of the money in one account you can always transfer the money from your bank directly to your Payment Processor's account. That is a free transaction.
How do I handle refunds?
Refunds are simple. You handle them through your Payment Processor account. Log in to your account and you will be able to issue refunds there. You will then have to mark that person as unpaid on your page.
